I seek to learn something new every day. Even if it is seemingly nominal, learning something new expands your understanding of everything around you. I enjoy listening to others and finding out how I can help them. Often, I find that by helping others and providing value, I typically gain more than the person I am helping. It can be just a new and exciting experience or the confidence I gain from sharing my abilities with others.
Experience Is Never Wasted.
Like my guest today, I spent multiple years at different companies and became known as a “company man.” I was loyal and dedicated to the companies that employed me. I unknowingly used every experience as a teacher to propel me to the next experience. Every experience I had, no matter if it was a “dream job” or simply being an order taker, I attempted to extract as much knowledge from that experience as possible. Many tend to forget that there are opportunities to learn all around us during the daily grind.
Corporate Loyalist
Erik Cabral was the dream employee for any company. Loyal and dedicated, he worked tirelessly to help businesses and brands become successful. One day, he decided that if he wanted the financial freedom and ability to create generational wealth, he needed to take a risk and forage out for himself. He left corporate America after twenty-plus years and jumped headfirst into real estate investing. Along the way, he found that his talents were valuable to others in the real estate industry he sought to learn from to succeed.
Continuous Learning
He founded the podcast Entrepreneurs Circle, the virtual PodMAX events, global media agency On Air Brands, podcast Capital Hacking, and the Mindado Investment Group. It was an engaging conversation, and I know it will be of value. Please enjoy my interview with Erik Cabral.

Action Items:
Erik had some great things to say in which I extracted these action items for you to put into practice today for a good start tomorrow:
Copy Good Habits Of Others: If you want to advance yourself in any career path, you need to have good habits. Part of the mission of Get A Good Start is to do just that, provide the insight of others to help you find those good habits. There is no magic pill in life; working every day to discover what works for you is the answer. You can find successful practices by emulating those who excel in an area you are interested in working. Go today and seek out people who are succeeding in the business you want to be in and humbly ask them how they got there. Ask them what they do, how they do it, and then take what you learn and apply it to your process. Initially, it may not work for you, so you will need to experiment and modify these processes to your liking. Failure is success in progress, so do not be afraid to fail; take it as a learning experience from which success grows.
You Are The Average Of The Company You Keep: If you want to be an innovator, you need to hustle and see opportunities where others may not. The company you keep around you needs to inspire and motivate you each day. Conversely, you need to provide great feedback and accountability to your circle. Lightning is the value we provide others; thunder is the return value that comes later. You may not see the returning value, and it may not come from the direction you expect, but it will come. Start today and look at your circle and make sure they help you stay motivated and inspired. Someone once said, “If you hang around a barbershop long enough, you will get a haircut.” If you want to innovate, you need to hang around other innovators. Surround yourself with like-minded people; otherwise, you may get a haircut you weren’t expecting.
What Do You Want To Become? When we seek a job, one of our first thoughts is usually, “How much am I gonna make?” A better question to ask yourself is, “If I take this job, will I learn the things and gain the experience I need to become the person I want to become?” If the answer is yes, then how much you get paid is less relevant because you will be arming yourself with the knowledge to help you achieve your ultimate goal. Today, review where you are and who you want to become in the future. Are you taking advantage of every opportunity in the place you are currently to get to where you want to be? Have you discovered all of the resources you can take advantage of, or do you still need to try some things and fail to find the path to success? Do it today to help yourself determine where you are going and the correct way to lead you to your personal growth.
Conclusion:
Form better habits, encircle yourself with like-minded people, and figure out what you want to become. Doing just one of these three things will set you on a path to get a good start tomorrow to achieve what you desire in the future.
